Author Guidelines
1. About the Journal
Jurnal Higiene Sanitasi is a peer-reviewed, open-access journal focusing on original research and critical reviews in the fields of environmental health, sanitation, hygiene practices, and relevant public health technologies. The journal welcomes high-quality contributions addressing empirical, theoretical, and methodological issues in the domain of hygiene and sanitation.

3. Language and Formatting
Manuscripts must be written in English with proper scientific language. A well-written English abstract is also required. Manuscripts should be typed using Microsoft Word, A4 paper, 1.15 line spacing, with 2.5 cm margins on all sides. Use Tahoma 10 pt, and justified alignment. Manuscripts should be 10–15 pages long.
4. Manuscript Structure
Each manuscript should be organized in the following sections:
- Title: Concise, informative (max. 20 words), in both Bahasa Indonesia and English.
- Author(s) and Affiliation: Include full name, institution, city, country, and email of the corresponding author.
- Abstract: 200 words max in both Bahasa Indonesia and English, followed by 3–5 keywords.
- Introduction: Background, problem statement, and study objective(s).
- Methods: Design, sample, instruments, and data analysis clearly explained.
- Results and Discussion: Include tables/figures and comparison with previous research.
- Conclusion: Concise summary and recommendations if any.
- Acknowledgements: (optional) Credit contributors and funding sources.
- References: APA style, at least 25 references (80% recent journal articles).
5. Tables and Figures
Tables and figures should be numbered sequentially. Titles of tables appear above; titles of figures appear below. Use high-quality images (minimum 300 dpi). All figures and tables must be referenced in the text.
6. Ethical Considerations
Research involving human or animal subjects must be approved by an ethics committee. Include approval number and informed consent where applicable.
7. Plagiarism Policy
All manuscripts will be screened using Turnitin. The maximum allowable similarity index is 20%. Plagiarism or unethical behavior will result in rejection or retraction.
8. Peer Review Process
Submissions undergo double-blind peer review by at least two reviewers. The review process typically takes 2–4 weeks. Reviewer comments will be shared with authors for revision.
9. Article Processing Charges (APC)
There is no submission fee. An APC of IDR 350,000 is charged for accepted articles only.
10. Copyright and Licensing
Authors retain the copyright. Articles are published under Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial 4.0 (CC BY-NC 4.0).
11. Submission Process
Submissions must be made online via the journal’s website: https://hisan.poltekkesdepkes-sby.ac.id/index.php/hisan. Authors must register and follow the steps in the submission system.
